Washing hair problem - be practical!
This post is a bit beyond our topic, but this is about being practical in everything you do. I do believe that short hair fans have a good practical sense and if there are mothers in this community then they would like to hear this.
The age of 2 brings sometimes the fear for water. Washing your kid hair may become very stressful for both of you. Sometimes he doesn’t let you wet his hair; he is crying and begging you not to put water on his head. It doesn’t seem to be any logical explanation. You didn’t interrupt his games so he is not mad, you use “no more tears” shampoo so he is not hearting. If you’d talked to a psychologist he would tell you not to force him, anyway. It is the age when the child begins to experiences “the fear” and the only good thing you can do is to encourage him and be there for him. Postpone washing his hair and show him that you understand his fears. Next time you could try with a smooth sponge, it could work.
This is one of many phases a child goes through and makes a parent be a witness and guide of this awesome process of becoming a mature person.
Never forget that being practical on everything you do, not pressing things and trying not to overreact, being understanding and self confident is a very clever way to approach your life.

Hello!
I remember those days, many years ago. I have 2 grown up daughters. Time is passing by so quickly. There are wise things you have said, Diane!
